Review from Michael M. Menlo Park, CA 6/12/2011 I really recommend Techworld Trading! Even if you don't live in Menlo Park, it's worth the drive to save you time and money. I've worked with Ahmet twice and he's great. The first time I came in with a problem video card (which he could tell was the problem immediately). He swapped it out for a better one he had on hand and only charged me for the part. When I got home I realized that this particular type of card needed more cooling than the original, so the fan was louder than I was used to and annoyed me. I went back into the shop to see if Ahmet had a fan-less card that he could sell me. He didn't have one on hand, but he ordered me a new one and didn't even charge me for the new part! He just swapped out the card I'd bought earlier and didn't charge me for labor AGAIN! Who does that?! While I was in the shop a man came in asking for an external DVD drive for his Mac. Ahmet suggested one but the gentleman was concerned the DVD drive's box didn't mention Macs, so Ahmet just ripped open the box and let the guy try it on one of the Macs in the store to make sure the guy would be happy with his purchase. You won't get that kind of service with "Geek Squad" or whatever, believe me! Review from Tu N. Menlo Park, CA 5/8/2011 The guy who runs this shop is fantastic. He diagnosed my problem in literally 5 seconds. He had a spare part on hand that was newer and better quality than the broken part and had it changed out in no time. He even cleaned the desktop for no charge. He also tested it properly in front of me to make sure it was behaving before he sent me on my way unlike most places. I usually dread taking computers to get fixed because it's almost guaranteed they will overcharge you and take forever; this place is different. After all was said and done, he only charged me for the part. I looked the part up later online and it was more expensive online than what he charged me! He also has a bunch of computers that have been refurbished for really low prices. Modern Dell notebooks for like $400. I'd highly recommend Techworld Trading. Review from Shauna M. Atherton, CA 3/25/2011 I love these guys. Firstly the staff is knowledgeable, and honest. I have been here twice first to purchase a mac book which I love dearly, and recently to purchase something else and trade in a piece of equipment. They are honest and give you fair market value. I had a million questions, which they were more than happy to answer. They were great about letting me try the piece of equipment I wanted to purchase. They also do repairs, and do graphic work. Again beautiful work. I highly recommend checking them out if you need repair or are looking for a piece of equipment. They have both new and used items at wonderful prices. They are conveniently located in downtown Menlo Park; I found them during a brisk walk when I first moved to California. I knew they would come in handy once day. I have had my laptop served by them on two occasions. The first was a virus removal and the second was a battery replacement. The service was exceptional on both accounts and I will definitely come back again for future technology needs. In addition, they recycle electronics for FREE. Review from Hansel L. Palo Alto, CA 4/5/2011 Great honest guys. Helped me with a laptop that died and couldn't boot. Was willing to let me use his recovery discs for free if I sat there myself. Gave me a good discount off the price of saving off my data. Very understanding and helpful guys. Their full price for saving off data is pretty pricey, so you might try and negotiate. Two sides of that coin tho, it's not a lot of work for them to save off the data, but that data is super valuable to me. I had pictures from my daughters 1st and second birthdays, vacations,etc. This was a tradgedy.He was able to retreive ALL of them. I will now have all those memories back thanks to him. And he even hand delivered the disc to me and downloaded it onto my computer. A+ for customer service.
